Overdue is made by Hideaway Labs. This policy explains what information we collect through the Overdue app and the youreoverdue.com website, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what we need to print your photo and mail it to the person you choose, we don't sell your data, and you can delete your account and data at any time.
Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Apple, the name and email your Apple ID shares with us. Authentication is handled by Clerk, our sign-in provider.
Your photos. The photos you choose, along with any text, stickers, or decorations you add to them, so we can produce a printed copy. When you send something, the finished image is sent to our print and mail partner to be printed and posted. We keep a copy of what you sent so we can show you your history and re-send or reprint if something goes wrong in the mail.
Recipient mailing addresses.To mail a physical photo we need a postal address. You can enter it yourself, or send the recipient a private link where they add their own address. We use these addresses only to print and mail the item and to let the sender know it's on its way. We never publish addresses or use them for advertising.
Address lookup.When you type an address, we use Google's address autocomplete to suggest and format it. Your query is sent to Google to return suggestions.
Purchase information. When you pay to send a photo, our payment processor handles the transaction. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and basic order details, but we do not store your full card number.
Usage and device information. Basic analytics about how the app and site are used (screens viewed, features used, device model, OS version, crash data) so we can fix problems and improve the product. On iOS, if you allow it, we also use limited advertising and attribution data to understand which campaigns bring people to Overdue; you control this through the App Tracking Transparency prompt and your device settings.
Waitlist email. If you join the waitlist on our website, we store the email address you give us to tell you about the launch and occasional product updates. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising. We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf to run Overdue:
We may also disclose information if required by law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your data.
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account from inside the app or by emailing overdue@hideawaylabs.io. Deleting your account removes your profile, photos, and send history from our systems within 30 days, except where we are legally required to keep records (for example, basic transaction records for tax and accounting). Once a photo has been handed to our print and mail partner, that copy is part of a physical order that has already been produced and cannot be recalled. Waitlist emails are deleted on request or when you unsubscribe.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. We honor these requests for everyone, not just where the law requires it. Email overdue@hideawaylabs.io and we'll take care of it.
Data is encrypted in transit, credentials are stored using industry-standard practices, and access to production systems is limited to the small team that runs Overdue. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and will notify you if a breach affects your information.
Overdue is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and let you know in the app or by email. Continued use of Overdue after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
